Before I decided to attend the Cannes Film Festival, I felt like my projects and career were at a standstill. I wasn’t sure how to move forward or find the right direction to take. Cannes seemed like the perfect opportunity to break out of that rut — to connect with new people, discover producers and funding for my work, and learn fresh insights through workshops. But what excited me most was the chance to meet others who share my passion for the arts, people driven by the same motivation and creative vision.

Attending Cannes for the first time was an unforgettable experience. One of the highlights was getting orchestra pit tickets for the premiere of Mad Max: Furiosa — walking the red carpet that night was surreal. Yet, the most meaningful part of the festival wasn’t the glamour but the people I met along the way. I found collaborators who are now actively involved in my project, but more than that, I found individuals who became so much more than just colleagues. These were people I connected with on a deep level, who shared the same dreams, ideas, and excitement for storytelling. I still remember one evening in particular, sharing a long, heartfelt conversation with the Yes She Cannes group over dinner. Moments like those reminded me how incredible it is to find people who truly understand your creative spirit.

As someone who had never been to Cannes before, there were many moments of uncertainty. I wasn’t always sure where to go, which events were crucial to attend, or how to navigate certain situations. That’s where Yes She Cannes made such a difference. They were always there when I needed advice, support, or just someone to help me feel grounded. Knowing I had a group of strong, supportive women to rely on made all the difference. Even though I had traveled to Cannes alone and hadn’t met anyone there in person before, the She Squad made me feel like I was never truly by myself.

Cannes has completely transformed my journey in the film industry. I’ve made incredible strides with my project, moving forward in ways I hadn’t thought possible before the festival. Beyond that, I’ve built a network of inspiring individuals who have become collaborators, mentors, and friends. It’s such a gift to have people you can turn to for advice, create with, and support in their creative endeavors.

I’m beyond excited for Cannes 2025 and can’t wait to reconnect with the amazing women from the She Squad. This experience has truly changed my life, and I hope it inspires other women to take the leap, attend Cannes, and discover what’s possible when we support each other.

After the pilot script for my fantasy series 'Darkness & Fire' received incredible feedback at several international screenplay competitions, I had the opportunity to present my project during the time in Cannes. 'Darkness & Fire' is a deeply layered narrative about love, resilience, and the defining choices we make, woven through five interlocking timelines. It explores the complexity of good and evil, emphasizing that darkness is not inherent but forged by circumstances while exploring the magic and mystery of a world unlike any other.

At Cannes, I was able to connect with individuals who saw the vision behind this project and believed in its potential to resonate with audiences on a profound level.
