Luna, tell us about your journey into the industry and the focus of your work.
I am an American independent producer specialising in film financing, deal structuring and international partnerships.
My work highlights meaningful storytelling and diverse voices. With experience on films exceeding $100 million in budget, alongside a strong entrepreneurial background, I bring a strategic perspective on financing and project development at an international scale.
I am also a women’s empowerment advocate and a promoter of diversity and inclusion in the industry.
What are you building right now, and why does it matter to you?
My main focus is women’s empowerment in the industry, alongside fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion.
I am focused on continuing to grow, taking my work to the next level and supporting projects and people who align with those values.
What does Cannes represent to you at this stage of your journey?
For me, Cannes is a place to educate by sharing insights on producing feature films and helping demystify film financing, packaging and distribution for independent films.
I also presented a short film that I executive produced, which was selected for the official short film section at Cannes. Alongside participating in panel discussions, I met new talent to support or collaborate with in the future.
It is also an important opportunity to continue conversations around current productions and close deals.
What does building collective power mean to you in practice?
Supporting women’s voices is an important component of Celes Luna Holding.
I am always open to meeting people who could be a match for the intentions behind my work, whether that is through producing, financing, collaboration, education or creating stronger pathways for diverse voices in the industry.
I believe in building connections that can lead to real opportunity and long-term impact.
“Giving support to women’s voices is an important component of Celes Luna Holding.” - Luna Zhang
