Patricia Chica is a producer, director and PR expert whose work spans filmmaking, talent development and strategic positioning within the industry.

Through ChicArt PR and Flirt Films Inc., Patricia supports filmmakers, producers and writers in building visibility, reaching audiences and surpassing their professional goals. Her work is rooted in collaboration, meaningful storytelling and creating greater opportunity for women and underrepresented creatives.

Patricia, tell us about your journey into film and the work you do today.

I have been immersed in the film industry since my teenage years, working across a wide range of roles and steadily growing through every level of the craft.

As an entrepreneur, supported by a great team of diverse women through my firm ChicArt PR, I support filmmakers, producers and writers in surpassing their goals by amplifying their PR, market awareness and overall positioning.

As a producer, through Flirt Films Inc., I am particularly committed to supporting female directors in financing and bringing their feature films to life. My recent and upcoming projects include SOMNIUM, a sci-fi horror directed by Racheal Cain, HER CHOICES, directed by Yeniffer Behrens, and THE WATCHER’S GAME, directed by Maria Allred.

Beyond production, I dedicate my time to mentoring actors and creatives through coaching, teaching and my Rising Star Program. I serve as a mentor and educator with Stage 32, L’INIS Film School, USC and Imiloa Institute, among others. I also regularly speak on panels at major festivals and venues including TIFF, Cinequest, Fantasia, universities and Cannes.

All of my work is rooted in a spirit of collaboration, meaningful storytelling and the expansion of consciousness.

What are you building right now, and why does it matter?

I am focused on helping women and underserved filmmakers surpass their professional goals through coaching, mentorship, PR and the Rising Star Program.

I also continue to seek out female screenwriters and projects that could be optioned through Flirt Films Inc. Supporting creators at different stages of their journeys matters deeply to me, particularly when their voices and stories may otherwise struggle to find the right platform.

What is something about your journey that people may not see from the outside?

I rarely promote my work as a director. Many of my clients do not even know that I direct.

Despite having received more than 60 awards, I focus less on that and more on the contribution I can bring, alongside my team at ChicArt PR, to the film community.

What did Cannes represent to you this year?

At Cannes, my focus was on helping others grow and finding new talent to support.

The festival offered a valuable space to meet filmmakers, creatives and emerging voices whose work could benefit from greater visibility, guidance and meaningful industry connection.

What does building collective power mean to you in practice?

For me, collective power is about consciously elevated professionals finding and attracting one another organically.

It is about supporting people whose work, values and ambitions align, then creating the conditions for those connections to become meaningful collaborations.

Through my storytelling and wider work, I hope to contribute to a more conscious, connected industry and, ultimately, peace on earth.
