Every May, the global film industry gathers in the city of Cannes, France for one of the most important events of the year.
Filmmakers, producers, distributors, sales agents, actors and creatives from around the world come together on the Croisette to launch films, build partnerships and shape the future of cinema.
Cannes Film Festival can be chaotic. The energy, the buzz, the expectations.
Thousands of people arrive with different agendas, networks and levels of access. Even seasoned professionals can spend half the week figuring out who is where, who is doing what and how to connect with the right people.
That’s why we created the She Squad.
A community of passionate, determined women from across the film industry who are attending Cannes and supporting one another along the way.
Together, the She Squad exists to demystify the festival, increase representation and amplify women’s voices, creating a community around you so more women feel confident stepping into one of the most influential spaces in film.
What is the She Squad?
The She Squad is a community built around connection, visibility and shared support.
Members include filmmakers, actors, producers, writers, executives and creatives attending Cannes from all over the world.
Since 2018, Yes She Cannes has been building this community with a clear mission: to encourage more women to attend the festival and support one another as they step into the space.
Over the years, the She Squad has supported women through initiatives such as:
Pre-Cannes workshops and guidance
Community meet-ups and networking events
Industry panels and collaborations at the Marché du Film
Visibility opportunities including media features
Introductions, partnerships and ongoing support
